First and foremost, if you are looking for a quick fix, then you will be sorely disappointment. The most basic and important step is having healthy meals. Many teenage girls resort to starving themselves in order to lose weight. However, this not only doesn't help, it may actually lead to an increase in weight because as your body adjust to a drastic reduction in calorie intake, it is deprive of energy. So, it burns muscle for your energy requirement instead of fat. Now, since muscle burns up more calorie than fat, you metabolism decreases and your diet program just falls to pieces. Remember to eat healthy full meals - less sugar, less salt, less fat, more fruits and vegetables. It's that simple.

The next step is to exercise. Before you start moaning and groaning about exercising, let me assure you that it doesn't need to be the strenuous types. Of course, if you can participate in some very active sports or lift weights, all the more better for you. But again, it is not necessary. Try taking a long walk around the park. Progressively increase your walking distance or duration as your fitness improves. This not only builds your fitness and tones your muscles, but you also burn energy and fat. Find a partner or partners to come along, this will keep you motivated and make it fun.

Finally, replace the words "fat" and "overweight" with the word "slim" in thinking about your goal. In other words, always say to yourself, "My goal is to become SLIM." And NOT, "My goal is to lose weight or fat." You may laugh, but you are actually telling your subconscious mind to activate certain processes within your body to increase your metabolic rate.

So, there you have it. The most simple, effective and safe weight loss, teenage girls can start implementing today. In fact, it worked so well that when I implemented slimming classes in the school I'm teaching, the results have been really encouraging.
